About IMM
The Institute for Molecules and Materials (IMM) at Radboud University is a dynamic research institute that brings together the fields of chemistry and physics, promoting interdisciplinary research. Our ultimate goal? To unravel the mysteries of atomic, molecular, and solid state environments. From the tiniest atoms to complex molecular structures and solid materials, we leave no stone unturned. But it doesn’t stop there. By exploring the practical implications of our discoveries, we strive to make a positive impact on our society and are dedicated in educating the next generation of leaders in science and innovation.
Board
The board of the Institute for Molecules and Materials provides guidance to the director on various institute-related matters, such as management, personnel, recruitment, research strategy, and funding proposals. The board encourages cooperation between different scientists and other institutions, and ensures the quality of the research and PhD programmes. Moreover, the board promotes innovation and a sustainable research strategy.

Board members
- Prof. Floris Rutjes (Chair)
- Ralph Jaspers (Managing Director & Finances)
- Prof. Arno Kentgens

Theme Trios
Three members of each research theme (so called theme trios) meet on a regular basis with the IMM Board to discuss any issues related to the IMM, such as management and personnel, hiring, tenure, research strategy and funding applications.
Theme 1: Structure and Dynamics of Molecules
Theme 2: Chemistry of Complex Systems
Theme 3: Spectroscopy of Quantum Materials
IMM Office
The IMM office assists the institute's director and managing director in the day-to-day management of the institute. In addition, they also oversee website maintenance, communication and public relations, issues related to the PhD graduate school and the organisation of activities like symposia and colloquia.
