Graduate school ISE
As a PhD candidates at ISE, you have the opportunity to receive training, improve personal and professional skills, and prepare for a successful future career. At the start of your PhD track at ISE, you are automatically enrolled in the ISE Graduate School. The aim of the Graduate School is to offer all PhD candidates a complete programme and support for academic development in this phase of their career.
Hora Finita
All PhD candidates of Radboud University are registered in Hora Finita. Hora Finita is used to track your progress, to remind you and your supervisors of deadlines, and to fill your portfolio. When you submit a complete portfolio at the end of your trajectory, you will receive an ISE Graduate School certificate.
PhD Guide
At the start of your PhD track, you will receive a PhD guide. In this document you will find information about our institute, about supervision, the training programme, about various policy areas you will be involved in and about what is expected of you as a PhD candidate and/or ISE employee.

Training & Supervision Plan and Graduation Plan
The aim of the ISE Graduate School is that you finish your PhD in a smooth way. To help you with this, you will write a Training & Supervision Plan (TSP) and Graduation Plan (GP) at the start of your project, and hand it in at the start of your PhD track.
The TSP is the ‘contract’ you make with your supervisors. The TSP comprises issues like research strategy, frequency of contacts with the supervisors, courses to be followed, and teaching tasks to be performed. You can evaluate and update your TSP every year. The initial version of the TSP should be uploaded to Hora Finita 3 months after the start of your PhD project.
The Graduation Plan describes the planned research. You describe the background an motivation for the research, the main research question(s) and your approach that you plan to use to answer these questions. Furthermore, the GP contains a description of the planning and deliverables for each year of your PhD track. You complete the GP after 9 months, and then you discuss it with your supervisors. At the 12 month annual evaluation, you can upload the (updated) form to Hora Finita.
