About IvOC
The Institute of Eastern Christian Studies (IvOC) is dedicated to the scholarly study of Eastern Christianity. We conduct consultations, research, teach, provide information to the public through conferences and public lectures, and offer print and digital publications, including the peer-reviewed scholarly "Journal of Eastern Christian Studies" and the "Platform Oosters Christendom".
Annual Report and Policy Plan
How the institute is funded
The Institute of Eastern Christian Studies (IvOC) is an independent non-profit foundation. The Congregation of the Assumptionists provides the basic fund through the Assumptionist Foundation (SAI). Radboud University Nijmegen provides housing, infrastructural facilities and services. In addition, IVOC applies for various project funding from KNR through the PIN committee, Sormani Fund, Stg. Communicantes, Stg. Pokrof, among others.
However, this is not enough to maintain the institute's current level of initiatives or to expand it in the near future. IvOC depends on the support of third parties. We are open to sponsorship agreements with institutions and companies, bequest/legacy donations from individuals who support our objectives.

History of the institute
The Institute for Eastern Christian Studies (IvOC) was founded in 1991 to continue the work of the Institute for Byzantine and Ecumenical Studies in the Netherlands. This institute was previously run by the Congregation of the Assumptionist Fathers for 40 years. Our institute is unique in the Dutch language area and is closely linked to the Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies (FFTR) at Radboud University Nijmegen.
