The Elinor Ostrom building was decorated with balloons and garlands, a red carpet, beautiful banners and posters, an alumni wall, and more. In other words, it was obvious - even from the outside - that a celebration was taking place here. And it was!
Audience enjoyed festive Open House
On Saturday 3 June 2023, the Open House took place in honour of our 35th anniversary. Various activities were organised around the theme 'through another lens'. It was a festive and, above all, enjoyable day.
During the Open House, several short lectures and mini-workshops took place, organised by the researchers and lecturers of the various departments within the faculty. The younger audience entertained themselves at the escaperoom puzzle tour, the NSM Cinema, the bouncy castle, the ice cream stand, and the popcorn machine. There was even a film booth where you could voice a research question, as well as various expo points that told you more about the history of our faculty and the research being done here.
Besides all these activities, the debut performance 'Boompje Beestje' by cabaret talent Boban Benjamin Braspenning was received with loud applause and laughter. Sports journalist and TV personality Barbara Barend also gave an insight into her career and how she has struggled through a male-dominated football world. Very inspiring.
The audience enjoyed snacks and drinks and thought it was a very successful day. We can only agree. On to the 40!
