Francis' PhD research examines the EU-Ghana migration policy landscape, analyzing how international and local migration policies shape the experiences and decisions of potential migrants. Through in-depth fieldwork in Ghana, I explore the gendered dimensions of migration and the socio-economic factors driving migration aspirations. This research provides critical insights into the disconnect between policy frameworks and the lived realities of migrants, offering evidence-based recommendations to inform more effective and inclusive migration policies in both the EU and Ghana. Francis is a PhD candidate of the Department of Geography, Planning, and Environment; he holds a master’s degree in international relations from the University of the Witwatersrand South Africa; and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in international relations from the University of Kwa Zulu Natal in South Africa. He also obtained a Bachelor of Theology from the Facultad de Teologia de Granada- Spain; a Master of Theology from the University of Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa, and a Bachelor of Philosophy-Pontifical Urban University, Rome.
