M. Appel (Michelle)

Michelle Appel is a PhD candidate at the Donders Institute for Brain and Cognition. She works under the supervision of Prof. Marcel van Gerven, Dr Yağmur Güçlütürk and Dr Umut Güçlü. Her research is centered on Computer Vision, particularly focusing on image processing for Visual Prostheses. She is actively engaged in developing advanced image segmentation techniques, utilizing synthetic environments to augment the effectiveness of visual aids. Her work is aimed at bridging the gap between simulated environments and real-world applications, enhancing the practicality and effectiveness of visual prosthetics.
