Dr J.D.M. Baetens (Jan)

Jan Dirk Baetens studied Law (University of Antwerp) and Art History (University of Leuven). In 2011 he defended his Phd dissertation at the University of Leuven on the 19th-century Belgian history painter Henri Leys. His research focuses mainly on 19th-century history painting and the development of the modern art market.
