Annet van Berkel is interested in the motivations underlying the behavior of primary school children. As a Ph.D. candidate within the CatS project, she conducts research on popularity and bullying. Her project focuses on the expectations children have about high and low popularity and how these relate to strategies for gaining or maintaining popularity. Annet combines quantitative and qualitative methods, such as surveys, interviews, and longitudinal analyses, to examine the role of popularity in bullying and identify relevant moderators in these processes.
