János Betkó conducts an experiment with social assistance in the municipality of Nijmegen. He is studying the effects of a social assistance system wherein people have more opportunity to have an additional income in addition to the allowance, and in which they have more autonomy and / or more tailor made coaching. Among others, effects on re-integration, health, wellbeing, trust and poverty are studied. Furthermore, he works on connecting local goverment practice with the academic study of Public Administration.
