Dr F. Binkhorst (Floor)

As Managing Director at the Institute for Science Education, I am a connector. I am responsible for operational management within the institute, and I try to strengthen the cooperation between research and teaching at Science Education Research and outreach to secondary schools from Pre-University College of Science.

As project manager, I also initiate, organise and coordinate research and education projects and promote coherence between them. I then connect these projects with other institutes within the faculty and beyond. An example of the projects I coordinate is the national Dudoc-Beta programme, in which secondary school teachers follow a PhD track. The coordination involves setting up the training programme, acting as first point of contact and securing the process. I also coordinate the ISE Graduate School.

Also in the role of Teacher Ambassador, my aim is to connect people and ideas. I arrange meetings between lecturers - inside and outside the faculty - where they exchange experiences and gain new ideas. My aim is for lecturers to be inspired and enthused to improve their own teaching.
