As educational PhD candidate at the department of Microbiology, my work consists of research and a lot of education. I teach in several theoretical and practical courses in the Biology curriculum. My research focuses on nitrogen degradation by microbes in waste water treatment plants. By studying new bacterial species and characterize them, but also to investigate their interaction with known species, we hope to make the process to remove nitrogen from our waste water more efficient and sustainable.
