Dr N.A. Boekhoff-van der Voort (Nicolet)

Nicolet Boekhoff-van der Voort is Assistant Professor of Islam and (Classical) Arabic at Radboud University Nijmegen. She successfully completed her PhD research “Between History and Legend: The Biography of the Prophet Muḥammad by Ibn Shihāb al-Zuhrī”, in which she studies the sīra material about the life of the Prophet Muḥammad by the famous Medinan scholar al-Zuhrī (d. 742 C.E.) Her current research deals with the analyses of aḥādīth about the Prophet Muḥammad, the earliest generations of Muslims and the initial period of the Islamic empire in Islamic sources from the earliest centuries of Islam.

Hammām al-San`ānī: Searching for earlier source-material”, 27-47.
