Shari Boodts is Assistant Professor of Medieval History at Radboud University. She specialises in the transmission of texts in medieval manuscripts and studies how our collective cultural heritage was shaped and influenced by 1000 years of medieval handwritten textual transmission. She investigates this question on the basis of case studies from early Christian literature, with a particular focus on the sermons of Augustine of Hippo. At the moment, she is Principal Investigator of an ERC Starting Grant on the dissemination of late-antique Latin sermons in the Middle Ages (2019-2024). Her research aims at a productive synergy of textual criticism, manuscript and reception studies, and Digital Manuscript Studies. Additionally, she is interested in questions surrounding heritage policy, sustainable digital tools and data, and Open Access.
