Taco Brandsen is Professor of Public Administration at the Institute for Management Research of Radboud University. He has led and contributed to numerous studies commissioned by national and local governments, the European Commission and non-profit organisations, mainly on the following topics:
• Co-production and co-creation of public services
• Social inequality and exclusion
• Hybridization of organizations and institutions
• Social innovation
• The government's relationship with civil society organisations
• Self-organization and citizens' initiatives
He previously worked at the University of Twente, B&A Group and Tilburg University. He received the Van Poelje Prize for the best public administration journal of 2001. He heads the European accreditation organization for public administration programs (EAPAA) and has extensive experience as a member of programme review committees. He was previously President of the EMES International Research Network for Social Enterprise, board member of the European Group of Public Administration (EGPA), Vice-President of the International Society for Research on Public Management (IRSPM), and Editor-in-Chief of the journal VOLUNTAS: International Journal of Voluntary and Nonprofit Organizations.
