S.T.E. Bruls (Stijn)

During my PhD project 'Up2Standards?' I study the impact of digitalization and standardization efforts of Health Information Exchange practices on the daily work of and collaboration between acute care professionals. This project is a collaboration between Nictiz, Sint Maartenskliniek, iHub and Institute of management research. I employ qualitative research methods such as organizational ethnography, expert interviews and document analysis to study the use, redesign and implementation efforts of an information standard for the acute care. I would position my research on the bridge between Information Systems and Management literature. My theoretical interests encompass: Information Infrastructure, process research, practice theory, paradoxes, High Reliable Organizing and affordances.
