Danny Busch is Professor of Financial Law at Radboud University, Nijmegen, where he holds the Financial Law Chair and serves as Founding Director of both the Financial Law Centre (FLC) and the Financial Law Master’s program. In recognition of his scholarly contribution, he has been elected a member of Academia Europaea, the European Academy of Sciences. Alongside his academic work, Professor Busch plays an active role in the administration of justice and financial dispute resolution. He serves as Deputy Justice in the Amsterdam Court of Appeal (Commercial Law Division) and sits on the Appeals Committee of the Financial Services Complaints Tribunal (KiFiD), the Netherlands’ principal body for alternative dispute resolution in the financial services sector. Professor Busch’s global academic engagement is reflected in numerous invited Professorships and Research Fellowships, including at the University of Oxford (Harris Manchester College), the National University of Singapore (Kwa Geok Choo Distinguished Visitor), Université de Nice Côte d’Azur, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, and the University of Genoa. He has also provided guest lectures at leading institutions such as the University of Zurich, the University of Edinburgh, and Bocconi University. He is Founding Editor of the Oxford EU Financial Regulation Series (Oxford University Press) and the EBI Studies in Banking and Capital Markets Law (Springer Nature), two influential publication series shaping contemporary debate in financial regulation and banking law. In addition, he is widely involved in executive education and professional training, regularly teaching attorneys, regulators, and financial sector professionals. From 2002 to 2010, Professor Busch practised as an attorney-at-law at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek in Amsterdam, where he specialised in banking and securities law—experience that continues to inform his academic research and teaching.
