Teacher - Orthopedagogics: Learning and Development
Although verb spelling is rule-based, it is a relatively difficult aspect of Dutch orthography. Results of an earlier study show that Dutch high school students make several mistakes in verb spelling. They made significantly more mistakes in the spelling of a particular inflected word form in Dutch: the past participle in its attributive, that is, adjectival, use. In this project I will investigate the underlying processes of these errors. Furthermore I will evaluate several approaches that can improve spelling education.
