My field of expertise lies in the study of the neural bases of cognition, in health and disease, using in vivo electrophysiology in awake behaving animals. My focus is on the temporal lobe and the prefrontal cortex, underlying spatial memory and executive functions, and on theta network dynamics. I have strong expertise in electrophysiology, in animal models of temporal lobe epilepsy, and with neurofeedback training.
- My research interests lie in the prevention of related brain diseases using electrophysiology, animal models, cognitive tasks, and intervention strategies.
- A collaborative research project aims at identifying early signs of the trajectory (transition) that leads to the development of disease onset using global transfer entropy in the time domain. This project is achieved in collaboration with Prof. Daniele Marinazzo at Ghent University (Belgium).
