To accelerate research on focused ultrasound stimulation, technical expertise has been consolidated and placed under the oversight of the engineers at the FUS initiative. These engineers serve as a central point of contact for software and hardware-related support questions.
In my role as an Ultrasound Engineer, I focus on various responsibilities, including the development of (open-source) software in Python and MATLAB for the TUS community. This software is utilized for controlling ultrasound equipment, determining software limits, conducting characterizations, and simulating ultrasound protocols. Additionally, I provide (programming) support for specific challenges within TUS, such as easily determining safety values using the TUS Calculator (https://www.socsci.ru.nl/fusinitiative/tuscalculator/). Furthermore, I have been key in establishing the acoustic characterization setup.
I acquired my skills during my completed Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering and Master's in Medical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology. During my studies, I specialized in developing ultrasound-based, patient-specific models for cardiovascular applications, particularly at Philips. Subsequently, I gained experience as a Technical Consultant Datawarehouse at ChipSoft and as a Java Software Engineer at AVEVA.
You can find me in the Maria Montessori Building, room 00.326, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I am reachable via email or phone.
