I am a scholar of European literature whose research is situated at the intersection of critical theory and intellectual history. I have an abiding interest in the long nineteenth century and in the Victorian novel. In my most recent research, I am exploring the relationship between art and cultural diplomacy in the twentieth century, with particular attention to Hungarian modernism. In addition to my core research, I am also the book review editor of the European Journal of English Studies and have been involved in a number of artistic collaborations, including a graphic novel, a documentary featuring the eminent literary critic J. Hillis Miller, and interviews with contemporary writers such as John Banville, Sara Baume, and Anne Enright. I have a budding interest in science policy, which I am trying to unfold as board member of ECHIC (European Consortium for Humanities Institutes and Centres) and, beginning 2023, as co-chair of the Radboud Young Academy.
