Jos Egger is professor of Contextual Neuropsychology at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour (research theme: Plasticity and Memory) and member of both the research group Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology and the research group Clinical Neurogenetics. He has his main interest in the integrated clinical (neuro)psychological assessment and treatment process. Prof. Egger is scientific director of the Vincent van Gogh Institute for Psychiatry in Venray where he also chairs the Centres of Excellence for Neuropsychiatry. Being founder of the research group 'Psychopathology and Genetics', his research is primarily focused on the neurocognitive aspects of psychiatric and genetic disorders, on social cognition, and psychometrics. The teaching of professional development, both at postdoctoral, graduate and undergraduate level, takes an important place in his work. He is chair of the Dutch national board of program directors clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology, chair of the National Audit Committee on Mental Health Centres of Excellence (TOPGGz), a consulting forensic expert witness, and a licensed clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist.
