My academic work focuses on individual decision-making under uncertainty, meaning how people deal with risks and uncertainties in their everyday decision-making. Furthermore my research is geared towards informing policy makers how to address risks in their communication such that people understand their decision context in a meaningful and clear way.
Moreover my research addresses relevant policy issues concerning education, personal finance and health. Please find an overview of all the current projects below and how these aim to inform current policy questions and challenges.
My research approach is highly interdisciplinary as I combine theories and experimental methodologies stemming from economics, psychology and neuroscience. I make use of a variety of experimental methods, ranging from behavioral and neuroimaging laboratory experiments, field work and quasi-experimental work with surveys and microdata.
