My theoretical orientation is Cognitive Linguistics, zie https://www.cognitivelinguistics.org/en. Specific research topics are discourse particles, expressivity and the history of linguistics. My native language is Brabants. I learned Dutch in primary school and speak German on a daily basis.

I am involved in various journals. I am Associate Editor of Cognitive Semantics and member of the Editorial Board of Nederlandse Taalkunde, Cognitive Linguistics, Cognitive Linguistic Studies, and Linguistics.
