My research focuses on individual and contextual factors in relation to safety, health, and wellbeing.
The key streams in my research are leadership (i.e., leader behaviour and mindsets), and work design (i.e., unusual aspects of work design, automation). I am interested in these aspects' implications for behaviour, safety, health, and wellbeing.
My research has been set in a range of industries (e.g. aviation, mining, fire fighting, healthcare) and work settings (teams, leadership ranging from the shop floor to the C-suite).
My research has informed both government and industry practices. Of note, my research into FIFO worker mental health and wellbeing informed the first Code of Practice focused on mental health at work in Australia.
I actively work with industry and governments to support translation of my research into practical tools and solutions. My work has been translated in a number of workshops, white papers presentations and interviews targeted at industry.
