Dr H.J.H. Ghijsen (Harmen)

Harmen Ghijsen investigates topics in the areas of epistemology, philosophy of mind and philosophy of science. He obtained his PhD at KU Leuven in 2014 and came to Radboud University in 2016 with an NWO Veni grant. His research focuses on the interaction between belief, implicit bias and perception: why do we believe what we believe and how does this influence the way we perceive the world? A cornerstone of this research is that we shouldn't over-intellectualize our cognition and shouldn't overestimate the importance of rational reasons.
