Liz Groen is a PhD-researcher at iHub and the department of ethics and political philosophy. She is interested in new ethical challenges that come with the entrance of digitalization and artificial intelligence into the highly regulated sphere of medical research. Her research focuses on medical ethics review committees - the key oversight mechanism designated to ensure that biomedical and health research is ethical - and investigates whether these committees are up-to-date in the age of AI and digitalization. In her research Liz integrates three fields of ethics, namely medical ethics, research ethics, and the upcoming field "AI ethics", with the aim to bridge those three fields.
Her PhD-research is part of the Radboud Healthy Data Project.
