Rens received his bachelor's degree in Chemistry education from the Fontys Hogeschool in Tilburg. After his studies, he worked for two years as a Chemistry teacher at a Waldorf School, where he further developed his passion for education. To deepen his knowledge and skills, he followed a Pre-master and then a research master in Educational Sciences at Utrecht University, with a specialisation in learning in interaction (MSc). During his master he focused, among other things, on the application of eye-tracking methodology in educational research.
Currently, Rens is a PhD candidate at Radboud University, where he is researching digital reading in Pre-vocational secondary education. This research is part of the NWO project LeesEvolutie.
