Dr S.V. Hanssen (Steef)

Steef Hanssen studies the mitigation of climate change. Specifically, he calculates the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions that can be achieved by switching from fossil to sustainable energy and materials, and by using land more sustainably, for instance through ecosystem restoration. Steef supervises students and PhD candidates on these topics and teaches courses on energy and environmental assessment.
