My research at Radboud focusses on how humans perceive "life" in digital machines. What psychological processes cause us to believe that computers could have a mind of their own? Additionally, technology is developing at an exponential rate, what effect does this have on how we perceive technology?

I'm interested in this at a universal level, and so my research includes chatbots, robots, and desktop computers. I mainly use implicit techniques as I believe that we are not fully aware of our actions when interacting with machines.
