As a registered Clinical Neuropsychologist I am working at the Academic Centre of Epileptology Kempenhaeghe, in Heeze. Here I am responsible for the pre-, and post-surgical neuropsychological assessment and treatment of epilepsy patients where epilepsy surgery is considered, or have been operated to relieve them from seizures. Epilepsy surgery is a multidisciplinary cooperation with Maastricht University Medical Centre (MUMC) of Maastricht where the patients are operated. Additionally, I am involved in the awake neurosurgery procedures. The department offers the possibility of a clinical internship or a research internship for thesis as part of a master program in Health-care Psychology, and the post master training programs in health care psychology and clinical neuropsychology. My own research is organised witin the research group Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology. Thematically I focus on memory deficits and memory rehabilitation in epilepsy patients. Furthermore, I'm involved in neuropsychological test development, like the Wechsler intelligence scales. In a formal cooperation between Radboud University and several universities in Indonesia, I have a position as professor clinical neuropsychology at the Atma Jaya Catholic University in Jakarta. Currently, there are several PhD-programs for the development of neuropsychological tests in Indonesia, like the Wechsler intelligence scales for adults and children. Finally, I'm involved in sports neuropsychology. As a clinical neuropsychologist I'm a member of the Expert TeamNL of the NOC*NSF and advise the medical team of PSV-Eindhoven in case professional athletes have a Sport Related Concussion (SRC). Currently, we develop a digitized neuropsychological assessment battery to measure cognitive deficits as a result of SRC.
Finally, I'm a senior lecturer for the post master programs Clinical Psychologist in Nijmegen and Eindhoven.
