Robin Hermans, LLM (Heerlen (NL), 1999) obtained a master's degree in International and European Law (LLM, cum laude) at Radboud University Nijmegen in 2023. Supervisor of this project has been dr. C.S. Rusu. Prior thereto he completed the Nijmegen European Law School bachelor's degree (LLB) in 2020. In 2024, he graduated again from Radboud University in the master's Research Programma Business & Law (LLM, cum laude) on a paper called 'Pandrecht op vruchten. Een rechtshistorische verkenning in rechtshistorische verkenning naar Romeins recht en Nederlands recht sinds 1838' (English: 'Right of pledge on fruits. An exploration of the history of the law according to Roman law and Dutch law since 1838').

He has been a PhD candidate at the Department of Legal History since 2024 and conducts research on the priority of the purchase financier from a law historical and comparative law perspective. Central in his research is the deviation of the rule 'prior tempore, potior iure' to the benefit of the purchase financier. Doctoral supervisors are prof. dr. C.J.H. Jansen, prof. dr. H.L.E. Verhagen, dr. R. Bobbink and dr. V.J.M. Van Hoof.

Additionally, he teaches Roman private law in the Dutch law and Notarial law LLB bachelor programmes.
