I am a scientific software engineer at the Environmental Science department of the Radboud University Nijmegen. In my work I focus on the development, maintenance and support of several modelling approaches, such as the global General Ecosystem model called Madingley and the process‐based assessment of exposure to pharmaceuticals in rivers waters called ePie.
During my PhD, I focused on explaining ecosystem functioning using mechanistic modelling approaches. My main research interest was the relevance of megafauna in maintaining ecosystem structure.
Besides a strong passion for ecology and environmental science, I’ve always been interested in programming and I’ve been doing so since High School.
