I am a scientific software engineer at the Environmental Science department of the Radboud University Nijmegen. In my work I focus on the development and support of a wide variety of modelling approaches, such as the global General Ecosystem Model (GEM) called Madingley and the process‐based assessment of exposure to pharmaceuticals in rivers waters called ePie. Additionally, I provide support to correlative analysis, applying methods such as Bayesian models or machine learning algorithms.
During my PhD, I focused on explaining ecosystem functioning using mechanistic modelling approaches. My main research interest was the relevance of megafauna in maintaining ecosystem structure.
Besides a strong passion for ecology and environmental science, I’ve always been interested in programming.
