Vincent van Hoof (1986) is an associate professor at the Department of Legal History and a researcher at the Business and Law Research Centre of the Radboud University (Nijmegen). He teaches and publishes in the field of (the legal history of) finance, security rights, and insolvency at the Faculty of Law, as well as for professional practice (Beroepsopleiding Advocaten and The Law Firm School). The title of his PhD-thesis (2015) was 'Generale zekerheidsrechten in rechtshistorisch perspectief', which investigated the historical development of secured transactions in France and the Netherlands through different time periods. He is an editor at the legal history journal Pro Memorie and the journal Financiering, Zekerheden en Insolventierechtpraktijk (FIP) and is a member of Insol Europe. As of Februari 2022, Van Hoof is the faculty's vice dean for education.
