He is an interdisciplinary researcher whose work focuses on trans-Saharan migration, transborder mobilities, and the relationships between climate change, natural hazards, and disaster risk governance. His research examines how environmental pressures, socioeconomic conditions, and risk perceptions shape human mobility within Sub-Saharan Africa and along migration routes to Europe. He has over six years of professional experience spanning research institutions and the humanitarian and development sectors. His expertise combines academic research with applied practice in disaster risk management, humanitarian programming, and development policy. He has contributed to the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of complex humanitarian interventions, as well as organizational analysis and institutional strengthening initiatives. His earlier research examined economic motivations and risk perceptions shaping youth participation in irregular migration across the Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean Sea. His current research investigates multilevel drivers of internal and cross-border mobility in the context of climate change and disaster risks in Sub-Saharan Africa. He is currently a Visiting Research Fellow at the Center for Migration Studies, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria.
