After receiving a BSc degree in Psychology at University of Twente, Rebecca specialized herself in the topic education and learning in the Research Master “Behavioural Science” at the Radboud University. Her master thesis focused on the relation between executive functions and science process skills in 5th grade elementary-school children. In September 2019, Rebecca started her PhD research project. In the project, she investigates the role of elementary school teachers in science education. Her central questions are how teachers can support upper-grade elementary school children with different levels of interest and achievement levels most effectively in their science learning, and how the teachers can be trained to provide the needed support.
