Working as a PhD candidate for the Roman archaeology of northwestern Europe. I focus on modes in which Roman infrastructure was introduced in northwestern Europe, and how such structures developed in the transitional period from the Late Iron Age to the Roman period (roughly 1st century BCE to 3rd century CE). Besides developing theoretical frameworks to better understand ancient infrastructure, my research focuses on sanctuaries and roads as examples of infrastructure.
I also have a keen interest in ideas about Roman heritage and the Roman Netherlands in the early modern and modern past.
