In my research activities, I focus mainly on the role of interpersonal communication and social influence for (sustainable) behaviour change, on the opportunities exercise participation offers for the promotion of a sustainable active lifestyle, and on the manifold relationships between (green) exercise, stress, health and well-being. My work aims at using insights from social sciences to promote healthy and more sustainable active living.
I also try to promote principles of sustainable development in my daily academic work and would like to help others to do this, too. For this, I created a free information package for higher education teachers (available on my homepage) and a longer Teaching and Learning Centre course on this topic. I am also co-organizing the TLC Special Interest Group Sustainability (https://www.ru.nl/en/projects/sig-sustainability).
