After a PhD in Greek Linguistics (in Heidelberg) and a project on Greek lyric poetry in Roman Egypt (in Stockholm, Oxford, and finally with an NWO Veni grant in Nijmegen), I am currently an Assistant Professor of Ancient Greek and Papyrology at the RU.

I have two main fields of research. On the one hand I make an effort to open up forgotten papyrological collections in the Netherlands and beyond. I combine this research with an annual Radboud Summer School on Greek Papyrology.

On the other hand, I study the history of the book and writing technology in antiquity. I analyse large data sets of excavated papyri, and experiment with the use of AI in this kind of research.
