Jan Kremer is professor of Health & Society at Radboudumc. Originally a gynecologist, he served as head of the Nijmegen IVF Center for many years, where he conducted research on patient-centered innovation. In 2003, he founded the Digital IVF Clinic and in 2007 initiated a platform for personal health records (MijnZorgnet). Kremer has supervised 30 PhD candidates and is (co-)author of over 230 PubMed publications.

Since 2011, he has been working broadly in healthcare at the intersection of policy and practice as an advisor and supervisor. He serves on the Supervisory Board of Espria and is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Spaarne Gasthuis. Since November 2021, Kremer has been a special envoy for appropriate care, initially with the Healthcare Institute and since June 2023 with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS).

Commissioned by the minister, he drafted the Framework for Appropriate Care, published in June 2022, addressing the challenges of making healthcare sustainable and human-centered. Jan Kremer resides in Nijmegen.
