My research concentrates on modelling large-scale biodiversity responses (e.g., change in abundance or species richness) to global environmental change (e.g., habitat or climate change) based on globally available data (e.g., species traits and spatial distributions, satellite imagery, land and climate models, or comprehensive collections of empirical data) and species-area, habitat suitability, or regression models. I am especially interested in relating these responses to human activities to evaluate worldwide pressures on biodiversity and support environmental decision-making. Furthermore, I am fascinated about quantifying anthropogenically-induced global biodiversity change in relation to the planetary boundaries (i.e., the safe operating space for maintaining conditions that support natural and earth system processes that characterise the Holocene).
