Owen Lammertink, MA(ed) (1990) studied Economic and Social History at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. He graduated cum laude after writing his MA-thesis with the title ‘Kwetsbare vrouwen of sterke moeders: een onderzoek naar de vulnerability van Amsterdamse ongehuwde moeders in de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw.’ In 2013 this thesis won the Holland Historisch Tijdschrift Thesis Prize. After completing his History studies, Owen graduated cum laude as Master of Education, also at the Radboud University in Nijmegen.
- 2018 - 2023 The main aim of his PhD-project is to use micro-data on mortality in Amsterdam between 1856 and 1926, to find out if the Epidemiological transition, i.e. the transition from mortality caused by communicable diseases to mortality caused by degenerative diseases, is accurate for Amsterdam. More information
