I am an interdisciplinary urban scholar (Ph.D. 2017 Urban Sociology, Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany; M.A. 2012 Political Philosophy, Brock University, Canada) interested in the politics of public space and contested narratives around the ‘creative city’. In my empirically-grounded, theoretically ambitious research, I interweave political theories of conflict, power and urban space with literatures on artistic activism, social movements and civic self-organization.
I am excited to develop interdisciplinary, international collaborations with students and researchers who are curious about the radical constructedness of socio-spatial life.
I am interested in supervising Bachelor, Master and doctoral theses that engage with politics of public space, artistic and curatorial activism, cultural policy interventions towards intersectionality and equity, as well as public art projects across the world.
