Dr A. van Lienden (Arne)

Arne's research is characterised by using a critical sociological lens on sport and sports media. In his PhD research, he focused on representations of ethnicity in sports media in Poland. In addition, he was involved in similar research in other European countries, including the Netherlands. He has also conducted research on female football coaches from ethnic minority backgrounds. In his current position, he is involved in the Re/presenting Europe project, where he will conduct research on representations of athletes from the Caribbean part of the Dutch Kingdom.
