Mathijs van der Loo is a historian specializing in the nineteenth century. He earned his bachelor's degree in Dutch history at Leiden University and studied the history of international relations at Utrecht University. As a PhD candidate, he is conducting research into crisis narratives surrounding epidemics in the nineteenth century.
