My research focuses on the Environmental externalities of EU green energy, in collaboration with Dr Noura Alkhalili. In this work I will examine how the green hydrogen trade deal between South Africa and the Netherlands interacts with land expropriation policies/efforts.
My previous work on nutrient management in the EU is interdisciplinary, an intersection of agriculture, environmental sustainability and policy analysis, using both qualitative and quantitative methods along with spatial analysis. In South Africa, my work focused on the role of indigenous knowledge systems to climate change adaptation in rural areas, documenting situated forms of knowledge, and has critical perspective on colonial influence on environmental governance.
