Professor Henri Marres specializes in the surgical treatment of cancer in the head and neck area. He is also an expert in trachea surgery and heads scientific research in this area. The diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumours in the head and neck area is concentrated in a few centres in the Netherlands; at the UMC St Radboud this is carried out by the Nijmegen Head and Neck Group (Nijmeegse Werkgroep Hoofd-Hals Tumoren). Professor Marres is a member of the executive committee of the Dutch Co-operative Head and Neck Group. He has been a board member of the UMC St Radboud Staff Council since 2006
