The research of Professor Dik van de Meent focuses on mathematical models of the effects of pollutants in the environment. His research aims to improve understanding of how policy can be applied to improve the quality of the environment. How well do models reflect reality? How reliable are their predictions? What are their limits? How can the models be improved? Professor van de Meent was (until 2016) an environmental chemist affiliated to the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment.
