Fons Meijer is a historian and works as researcher at the Centre of Parliamentary History of Radboud University. His research focuses on the history of social and cultural responses to disasters. At Radboud University he defended his PhD thesis about the relation between major catastrophes and nation building in the 19th century Netherlands. He furthermore publishes about Dutch post-war political history, in particular about the relation between politics and media and the role of opinion polls. He studied History at Radboud University and The University of Sheffield (UK).
