Dr J.H. Mentink (Johan)
Assistant professor - Ultrafast Spectroscopy of Correlated Materials
Johan Mentink is an expert in theoretical and computational physics, where he focuses on pushing the limits for the control of magnetism at the shortest length and time scale. He is recipient of the NWO Rubicon, VENI and VIDI grants. He is also interested in neurmorphic computing, which takes inspiration from the human brain to realize faster and very energy-efficient computing. In 2021 he initiated research to explore the potential of neuromorphic computating for computational science with SURF and researchers from the Radboud University, University of Twente and IBM.
