Professor Thomas Mertens focusses on the relationship between law and morality, mainly from a Kantian point of view. His points of interest are sometimes of a historical nature, but they often apply to current issues. He published broadly on a variety of sujects, such as human rights, Kant's legal philosophy, questions of war and peace and the relationship between law and morality during nazism.
